Tena Pepper

The Tena is a hot pepper only found in the rain forest region of Ecuador. And it is used by natives to condiment some special dishes. The Tena pepper is a close relative to the habanero, although its flavor and aroma are very different. The fruit is about the same size of an habanero with similar form but with a pointy tip and a very nice dark red color.
This is the hottest known pepper in all of Ecuador. Natives call it Devil's Breath. The potent odor of a fresh cut pod is literally breath taking.
